All About Us
At Taygold Registered, temperament, intelligence, soundness, retrieving ability and trainability are top priorities for us when breeding. We screen all our dogs for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, hearts, annual eye clearances, DNA testing for PRA1, PRA2, PRA-pcd, Ichthyosis and NCL.
Our dogs and puppies are raised and kept in the house. We expose our puppies to a stimulating environment of various scents, noises, toys, inside and outside along with walks in the woods and swimming in our lake. We conduct temperament testing (Avidog method) on our puppies to match the best puppy to the new owner. Anne is educated as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist as well as a veterinary assistant (Animal Health Technician) and Jeff is a Conservation Officer.
We have used our Goldens for hunting for many years and compete in hunt tests and obedience trials. We encourage people to come and see our dogs and watch them work.
